Rotary drum cooler is one of the important machines in rotary kiln system. The barrel-shaped rotary drum cooler rotates through cylinder driven by electromotor, it is called rotary drum cooler.
The function of rotary drum cooler is to conduct heat exchange between the high temperature materials from the rotary kiln and the air in order to cool the materials and improve the quality and grindability of clinker.
The Working Principle of Rotary Drum Cooler
The wet materials are fed into the hopper through belt conveyor or bucket elevator. The clinker will be raised up for many times and then evenly spread and it exchanges heat with the cooling air.
Especially in low temperature zone, the inclination angle and the speed can be adjusted by improving the structure and distribution of the spreading boards to increase the contact with air and control the movement speed, making the heat have plenty of time to conduct to the surface, resulting into the sufficient recycle of the heat from the low temperature clinker.
